About United Metallurgical Company (OMK)

United Metallurgical Company (OMK) is one of Russia’s foremost producers in the metallurgical industry, holding the position of the country’s second-largest pipe producer and the largest manufacturer of train wheels. The company’s origins trace back to a joint venture in scrap-metal recycling in 1989, initiated by Anatoly Sedykh. By 1999, Sedykh and his partners had gained control over the Vyksunsky Metallurgical Plant located in the Urals region, which laid the foundation for OMK.

OMK has demonstrated its capabilities on an international scale, having supplied significant quantities of pipes for major projects like Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream, both of which are associated with Gazprom. The company supplied 680,000 tons of pipes for Nord Stream 2 and 450,000 tons for the Turkish Stream project12.

Furthermore, OMK is also known for its cultural contributions, hosting annual modern-art exhibitions since 2011 in Vyksa, the monotown where the Vyksunsky Metallurgical Plant is based2. This indicates the company’s commitment not only to industrial excellence but also to cultural and community engagement.
