NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading in the negative zone in Friday’s morning session.
Shares of Welspun Corp (down 5.76 per cent), Hindustan Copper (down 5.57 per cent), Tata Steel (down 5.47 per cent), JSW SteelNSE -3.38 % (down 4.53 per cent), Hindalco Industries (down 4.28 per cent), National Aluminium Company (down 4.22 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 4.15 per cent), Steel Authority of India (down 3.8 per cent), Vedanta (down 3.8 per cent), Coal India
(down 3.61 per cent), MOIL (down 3.37 per cent), Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (down 2.98 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (down 2.78 per cent), NMDC Ltd (down 2.12 per cent) and APL Apollo Tubes (down 1.57 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Metal index was trading 4.15 per cent down at 2190.0 around 10:00 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 324.80 points at 10944.2 , while the BSE Sensex was down 1069.78 points at 37,400.83.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 0 were trading in the green, while 50 were in the red.
