NEW DELHI: Nifty Metal index was trading lower at 12:55PM (IST) on Monday.

While NMDC LtdNSE -9.63 % (down 8.14 per cent), Steel Authority of IndiaNSE -5.98 % (down 4.88 per cent), Mishra Dhatu Nigam (down 4.83 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 4.44 per cent) and JSW SteelNSE -3.88 % (down 3.21 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 2.35 per cent down at 2461.05 around 12:55PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 89.70 points at 11557.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 266.05 points at 39201.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Future Retail Ltd., Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Adani Green Energy Ltd., AstraZeneca, MindTree, Ruchi Soya Inds and SBI Cards hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Mangalam Global Enterprise Ltd., Ambani Organics Ltd., Eicher Motors Ltd. and Blue Chip India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
